Emily Wood is mixed-media artist, examining human and material relationships in the Scottish landscape. She is currently studying Painting and Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art. Wood’s work is concerned with land and the body, investigating materials, time, and the ecology of places. She uses alternative printmaking processes with organic matter, also incorporating photography, drawing, and painting. The artist’s process-led practice invites nature to collaborate, often working in the landscape to consider its agency and liveliness. Employing biological and chemical processes to document the landscape, Wood’s work seeks to understand the vitality of nature’s materials- questioning how we sense them, and position ourselves within these spaces.
