I studied Painting & Printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art in 2017 and I am a Glaswegian artist. My practice is varied, and I take influence from movements such as Fauvism, Pop Art and Expressionism. Colour is very important in my work and I focus on the emotional quality behind it. As someone with mental health issues, the work often incorporates a whole range of moods that contribute to the mood and atmosphere of the work I'm creating, whether it be anxiety or mania. I work with portraiture and figuration. I enjoy collected vintage photography and black and white photos that I work to inject colour into when recreating on the canvas. I am drawn to subjects that have charisma or uniqueness and incite an emotional response within me. I hope I can get across the subject's story.
