SALTSPACE FESTIVE MARKET 2023 - OPEN CALL

We are very excited to announce Saltspace’s first ever End of Year Social & Festive Market! It’s been a big year for Saltspace and our members, and we’re ready to celebrate with mulled wine a-plenty, some cheesy Christmas music and a platform for our members to show and sell their work!

 

The event will be taking place 6-9pm Saturday 9th December in our gallery space at the Axiom Building, 54 Washington St, G3 8AZ. Entry will be free and BYOB, there will be mulled wine served and donations are always welcome! 

 

This is going to be a relaxed evening in which our members can come together, invite family and friends to join us and celebrate the season! Alongside the social we’ll be running a Festive Market in which our members can sell their artwork, cards, gift items etc.

If you’re a Saltspace member and are interested in selling your work at our Festive Market then please fill in the form linked below. We’ll be forming an inventory so we’ll need a list of your works, their numbers and prices.

 

There will be a £5 fee for selling work and we do not take commission on sales. We’ll announce times for dropping off work closer to the date, but it will be between the 6th-9th December. If you’d like to volunteer to man the stalls then that help would be very welcome! We’ll have two volunteer slots, one which is 5-7:30pm and one which is 7:30-9:30pm meaning all volunteers can still enjoy part of the evening. Please send us an email to saltspacecoop@gmail.com letting us know which slot you’d be available to volunteer for.

 

Additionally - if you’re already taking part in our WASPS Winter Market and any of your stock doesn’t sell, we’ll be happy to keep hold of it and include it in the Festive Market for the £5 fee, to save you from coming to collect your work and then drop it off again within the same few weeks.

 

Deadline to submit is 23:59 on the 3rd December. Deadline to pay the £5 invoice is 23:59 on the 6th December.

ARTIST AGREEMENT
SALTSPACE FESTIVE MARKET
Please review and sign the following terms & conditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Insurance.

Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. All works accepted for the event will be displayed entirely at the artists' risk and the organisers will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the event. The participating venues do so at their own risk and the organisers will not accept liability for loss or damage occurring during the event.

2. Delivery and Collection.

Artists are responsible for delivery and collection of their own work. Work not collected by the agreed times will be disposed of.

 

3. Representation, Documentation and Promotion. 

3.1 - The Artist agrees to provide a biography/artist statement, information regarding their contribution and a selection of images on request, to Saltspace for use in promotional materials, and for other marketing purposes at Saltspace’s discretion. 

3.2 – Artists must supply their own fixings for work to be hung.  

3.3 - Saltspace reserves the right to record/document the artists contribution. This includes photographs, video and or audio recordings. 

3.4 - Saltspace further reserves the right to use recordings/documentation in Saltspace’s  possession solely for promotional purposes, including online publicity, without seeking  permission of the artist. Copyright of this material shall remain with the Gallery. The Artist can  retain a copy on request and be free to use it for his or her own professional promotion/development.

4. Cancellation policy.

Artist must pay the table fee of £5 by 23:59 on the 6th December. If the artist cancels after 6th December the artist does not receive a refund. This is in place so artists provide adequate commitment and SaltSpace has enough time to find a replacement.

 

I have read and understood these terms and conditions and by submitting this application I accept and agree to observe all the Terms And Conditions therein.

AN AGREEMENT made in Glasgow between SaltSpace Cooperative (hereafter referred to as  SaltSpace) and
