Pickle Jar by Masaki Ishikawa and Brandon Hendrick

Pickle Jar with members Masaki Ishikawa and Brandon Hendrick linked the preservation of memory to production. They reference a sense of nostalgia and melancholy, an attempt to attain something which has already passed. Using photography as a leaping off point, these works attempt to preserve memory like a jar preserves pickles. While photography preserves a visual record of our experience, painting allows for us to record our experience in a subject lens. For the exhibition, the artists showed both painting and sculpture which revolve around this concept.
