Paula Doherty

Paula is an Edinburgh born, Glasgow based interdisciplinary artist making interactive and collaborative work which focusses on the natural world and how we interact with it. Through ceramics and performative actions, she generates a shared experience between human and natural entity and negotiates how hierarchy influences the intersections between these groups.

Paula studied Sculpture and Environmental Art at Glasgow School of Art and Post Conceptual Art Practice at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Recent works have been exhibited as part of Glasgow Open House Art Festival 2022; Art Walk Porty, Portobello Beach, 2021; Ten Past Six, Six Foot Gallery, 2020; Artefact or Artifact, Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop, 2020; Last Futures, Tramway, 2018; and Tocsin Dunes, Irvine Beach, 2018.

Interdisciplinary artist with a focus on interactive and collaborative works using ceramic and performative actions. Creating as a continuous exploration into themes of nature and humanity, how these groups intersect, and how hierarchy influences how we interact with the world around us. Investigations into relationships and communications between more-than-human entities and humans often generating a shared action/experience between human and natural entity.
