SaltSpace X GSA Graduate Award

The SaltSpace X GSA Graduate Award

Since 2021 we have offered this award to celebrate the creative endeavours of one emerging artist from the School of Fine Art graduating class. 
 

Shortlisted artists are selected by committee members, based on their work presented in the Glasgow School of Art Degree Show. All shortlisted artists receive a free SaltSpace Co-operative membership, valid for one year.

 

The winning artist will receive: 

 

  • A small fee to support the development of new work.

  • A six week studio residency based in SaltSpace Gallery (38 Albert Road, Glasgow, G42 8DN).

  • A one week solo show at SaltSpace Gallery.

  • Tutorial meetings with SaltSpace committee members 

  • Marketing support and social media takeover during the residency period.

Selection Process 

​

Shortlisted artists will be invited to submit the following information:

 

  • An artist CV and statement.

  • 5 images of recent work, from your degree show or other body of work. 

  • A concept outline: What do you hope to achieve during your residency? What new body of work would you create? What concept would you research?

  • What support or resources you might need

    • eg. Access to special equipment/facilities, advice on a specific area of art working, help with a certain medium, etc.

  • What dates you will be available

    • Subject to Gallery availability - the residency has previously taken place in December/January.
