We are looking for SaltSpace Members to submit artworks, writings and/or performances exploring the lived experiences of maternal relationships in all their complexity - from the transformative journey of becoming and being a mother, to the lasting impact of being mothered. The exhibition will engage with contemporary concerns around gender, caregiving, and reproductive rights, acknowledging motherhood as both deeply personal experience and political territory.
We encourage applications from a variety of perspectives.
We are looking for:
Artwork of any medium (drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, moving-image etc.) which can be displayed at SaltSpace Gallery for the M/otherhood exhibition.
Performers for the private view - this can include performance art, poetry readings, etc.
Artwork and writing contributions for the M/otherhood zine, which will be curated and designed by the SaltSpace committee, printed and sold at the SaltSpace exhibition.
All exhibition contributors will receive a fee of £150.
All performing artists will receive a fee of £50.
All zine contributors will receive a fee of £25.
