'Plan B'

'Plan B', was a physical intervention manifested from the minds of the participating artists Chonghe Fan, Ethan Dodd, Yoon Hong Il & Bori Gheorghita, presented as a mirrored double of their final post-graduate degree show at Glasgow School of Art. The four emerging artists, all international, moved to Glasgow to study in the middle of the pandemic, experiencing , much like wanderers in the celtic Annwn (Welsh;Otherworld), a cold and ghostly shell of the usual vibrant city of Glasgow.

Formed as a response to the very real possibility that there would be no final physical showcase of works, Plan B was conjured as an alternative ‘escape rope’ serving our need to showcase our work physically, as emerging artists. Although the GSA Showcase is going ahead, the artworks within the show exist as an ‘other’ to the works presented as part of the Postgraduate physical showcase - they are both sister artworks, as well as ‘reflections’, of the pieces presented formally within Stow College.There is often no plan B in our lives, just the serendipitous nature of existing within ‘the moment’. To this end, this show aims to reflect and translate the captured essence of this ‘moment’.
