Gallery Space

Please note that membership is mandatory for hiring the gallery space. We accept hire proposals via bi-annual Open Calls, which will be advertised through our Instagram (@salt_spacecoop) in Spring and Autumn.

What we offer

  • SaltSpace Cooperative facilitates a gallery space for members to use for exhibitions, events and workshops.

  • SaltSpace will support you with marketing and promotion of your exhibition.

  • We provide a small selection of tools, cleaning and DIY supplies.

  • ​We do not charge commission on any gallery sales or workshop event tickets, all artists profits are their own.

Please note: SaltSpace is a small voluntary-run non-profit, not a large operational company. We therefore cannot offer curatorial support. The core idea behind SaltSpace is for emerging artists to gain valuable learning experience.

When renting the space it is the responsibility of members to curate, install, organise the opening night and invigilate the run of the exhibition. ​​

Pricing

​​​The gallery can be hired for £35 per day on weekdays and £50 per day on weekends (Saturday/Sunday). plus a £50 deposit which is refunded given the space is returned to an adequate condition after your event.

Workshop/event hire has a minimum of one day hire, exhibitions have a minimum of 3 day hire (including install/deinstall days).

Longer hires are at a discounted rate - after a full price 7 days, each additional day will be reduced to £25.

This fee is donated straight back into the Co-operative to aid in its continual operation and to pay for any overhead costs.
