We offer annual memberships to emerging artists across the whole of Scotland!
As we are a non-profit co-operative we do rely on contributions to help meet our running costs. All funds from membership goes straight back into helping us run our co-operative. We hope this opportunity of a mutual relationship through membership will offer both artists and us as an organisation a beneficial relationship during precarious times!

Community
Be part of an artist network and community. Every membership fee goes directly back into supporting our members.
Members Show
Participate in our annual Members Show which takes place in our SaltSpace Gallery. This show has attracted hundreds of visitors every year.
Sell Work
Sell work at various markets throughout the year at 0% commission! We charge a nominal fee to go towards stall hire. All proceeds go directly back into the running of our programme.
Residency Programme
Submit a proposal for our residency programme. Receive an artist's fee, studio space and develop skills in a specific area.
Exhibitions
Members can submit proposals to have either solo or group shows in our gallery space at an affordable rate.
Studio Space
Members have the opportunity to rent one of our studio spaces for a very affordable price. Studios are leased on a month by month rolling contract to provide flexibility.

Please note that membership permits proposal submission only; it does not guarantee proposal acceptance, funding, or any other outcome.

Yes, membership is mandatory for all SaltSpace opportunities and Open Calls.

The gallery is programmed biannually. The Open Call for January-July is released in Autumn.
July-December is advertised in early Summer.
The Open Call is advertised via our Instagram.
If you are a member seeking gallery hire outside the application window, please first refer to our ‘Gallery’ page for calendar gaps before reaching out.

Memberships are annual but can be cancelled at any time. You’ll retain access through the end of your current billing cycle (a year from date of payment).
