Visiting Us

SaltSpace occupies two premises; our gallery at 38 Albert Road, G42 8DN, and our studios on the second floor of Axiom Building, 54 Washington Street, Glasgow, G3 8AZ.

Getting to SaltSpace Gallery​

  • The nearest train station to Albert Road is Queens Park. Unfortunately this station does not have step-free access. The nearest accessible station is Mount Florida.

  • There is free on-street parking on Albert Road. 

Getting to the Studios at Axiom

  • The nearest train station to Washington Street is Anderston.

  • The building is around ~20 minutes walk from Glasgow Central train station and the St. Enoch subway stop. 

  • There is pay-and-display on street parking outside Axiom. An additional car park is located at 88 Washington Street.

  • Glasgow Taxis have wheelchair accessible vehicles abailable, please call 0141 429 7070 to book.

Studios

Axiom Building: Floor 2

54 Washington St. G38AZ

​

  • The main door at Axiom is three steps above street level.

  • SaltSpace studios are located on the second floor, up four flights of stairs. There is no lift.

  • There is one non-automatic code operated door, opening inwards at the entrance. The door is closed and locked to the street. 

  • The space is then located on the second floor with no lift. The floor is hard level concrete. 

  • The space is well-lit with natural daylight, & overhead bulb lighting. 

  • We do not currently have a hearing loop available. Noise levels vary throughout the space from other businesses.

  • We welcome trained assistance dogs. If your assistance dog needs a break, ask us for a bowl of water. 

  • Circulation space is at least 120cm / 47 inches wide in most places.

  • At present, we have no accessible toilets.

  • Removable tables and seats, wheelchair spaces can be created with advance notice.

SaltSpace Gallery

38 Albert Road, G42 8DN

  • The main door is at ground floor level; there is a small lip at between the main door and the pavement. 

  • The main door is non-automatic, opening inwards.

  • There is step-free access to all areas of the space: the main gallery, a second gallery room, and back of house facilities (utility room and bathroom). 

  • The hallway which leads to the utility room and bathroom is narrow, and may not have adequate turning space for wheelchairs

  • Outside noise levels vary, but Albert Road is a quiet residential street with low noise pollution. 

  • We welcome trained assistance dogs. If your assistance dog needs a break, ask us for a bowl of water.

  • At present, we have no accessible toilets. 

  • Tables and folding chairs are available at all times.
